Alfredo Hechavarria - World Musician with Heart

Born in Santiago de Cuba, he began studying guitar as a child. Alfredo continued his studies at the music university in Havana, where he decided to play bass. While still a student, he came to the attention of well-known bands, including the National Septet, Diakara under the direction of Grammy winner Oskar Valdés (singer of Irakere), Haila and Issac Delgado.

Tours all over the world followed. In the meantime, Alfredo has German citizenship and not only shows his skills on stage, but also teaches and passes on his knowledge.

Bass and guitar are his passions, composing and arranging his challenge..

Whether guitar, bass, double bass or baby bass Alfredo plays his personal, expressive style. His workshop program from jazz to salsa inspires beginners and professionals all over the world.Fancy some bass slap here's my program. 2012 his first book was published Latin Grooves in German, English and Spanish (Leu Verlag).

2012 Alfredo toured Europe and the USA with the guitar duo Rodrigo y Gabriela. He is a sideman for various projects, including Culcha Candela, Jürgen Zoller's Network and Jorge Palomo, Clarissa & Around Midnight, Familia Latina and many more

Clarissa's timbre translates the inherent sound of the notes that the individual arrangement demands of the voice. Sometimes heavier, hoarser, rougher, then again quieter, more lyrical; it modifies and brightens the tones - perfect intonation is the hallmark of Clarissa's singing. Alfredo's fascinating joy of playing and interpretation of well-known and original songs amazes every spectator. The type of improvisation of his solos inspires and always inspires applause from the audience. Mornay Hoffmeester is a well known South African born Drummer, Percussionist, Composer, Lecturer and
Entrepreneur. Mornay was born and bred in the heart of Cape Town.34 year old Hoffmeester’s passion runs deep for music.He studied Music from Campus of Performing Arts.Passionate about uplifting & empowering musical
education in his community, Mornay founded the formerly know Cape Drummers Lab (a leading Drum School in
South Africa) in 2011, which now boasts range of 100 students taught on a weekly basis. Cape Drummers lab has
since undergone a name change and is now know as Drummers College.

When not teaching at Drummer College, Hoffmeester tours with many international artistsvisiting South Africa, and surrounds, aswell as performing with local African artists on the many festivals the continent offers (e.g Calibar MTV BASE Jazz Festival, Cape Town International Jazz Festival.
Mornay is currently endorsed with PDP Drums, Sabian Cymbals, Vater Drum Sticks, Evans Drum Heads, Fender inears and Alesis electronics. These brands all believe in Mornay and his ability to impact so many aspiring
